Obituary for
Lorraine Louthella Davis (Hall)
Lorraine L. Davis (Rainey) age 90, was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2019.
Lorraine was a beautiful gift of life to her father Wendell S. Hall and her mother Cora Mae Strickland on December 2,1928 in Battle Creek, MI where she was a life-long resident. Lorraine graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1947. Shortly after graduation she married the love of her life, Dean Clair Rainey on August 8, 1947. Lorraine was the loving, giving, gentle, and selfless mother to her 4 children: Wendell D. Rainey, Becki K. Rainey (Mike Ranes), Debbie A. Franklin (William Cadreau) and David A. Rainey. Lorraine was the beloved Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother to several grandchildren. On January 9, 2000 Lorraine joined lives with and married Charles E. Davis. Lorraine was a long-time employee of Bertine’s Bridal Shop and later retired from Robinson’s Department Store and loved to volunteer her time at The Bible’s for Missions Thrift Store. Lorraine was an active member of Custer Chapel Church. Lorraine liked to spend her time with her family, her beloved cat Mica, and loved to garden, read, do word puzzles, crochet, put together jigsaw puzzles and play solitaire.
Waiting at Heavens gates for Lorraine when she arrived were Dean C. Rainey, Charles E. Davis and Wendell D. Rainey.
Lorraine’s love and legacy will live on in her family that remain here, until they are reunited again.
In All Her Ways
Loving and kind in all her ways,
Upright and just to the end of her days;
Sincere and true in her heart and mind,
A beautiful memory she left behind.
She had a nature you could not help loving
A heart that was purer than gold;
And to those who knew her and loved her,
Lorraine’s memory will never grow old.
