Orie Junior “Junior” Goshorn, Sr. age 89, of Sherwood, MI and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away November 14, 2018 at Quincy Cottage in Quincy, MI surrounded by his loved ones.
Junior was born on February 26, 1929 to Kenneth and Bernice (Waller) Goshorn in Bethel Township, MI. On October 18, 1958 he married Tresia Byers in Battle Creek, MI and they were married until her passing in 2007.
Junior was a local milk delivery man with a family friend Hep (Hope) Hepler for several years prior to entering the Army. He was honorably discharged from the service as a Private First Class in 1952. He then became a full-time truck driver for a local company out of Bronson for a couple of years and then was employed by the Battle Creek Box Company/Consolidated Packaging until his retirement in December 1990. He enjoyed camping, fishing, farming and collecting toy trucks like the Coca’Cola semi-trucks.
He is survived by his children: Orie (Christy) Goshorn, Jr. of Quincy; Frank (Krenda) Goshorn of Battle Creek; Danny (Lisa) Goshorn of Battle Creek; Ted (Michelle) Goshorn of Sherwood, MI; his two sisters: Linda Finley of Quincy and Wilma Wheeler of Coldwater; his brother: Robert “Bob” Goshorn of Coldwater; grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Rayman, Erik (Jenny) Goshorn, Travis (Muffin) Goshorn, Shawn (Nicole) Goshorn, Kristin Goshorn, Katlyn (Foster) Goshorn, Megan Goshorn; nine great-grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother: LaVern Goshorn and Earl Goshorn; and his sister: Margaret Taylor.
Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday, November 18, 2018 where the family will be present from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Funeral services commemorating Junior’s life will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 19, 2018 with Chaplain David Goldsmith of Southern Care Hospice officiating.
