It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Willie “Lois” (Lee) Dean, age 95, announces the passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt and friend on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born March 19, 1923 in Livingston, TN the daughter of Carlos A. Lee and Ethel (Carr) Lee.
She had worked at CW Post cereal factory in 17 building for 37 years until her retirement in 1981; and she was a proud member of the Post 25-Year Club.
She is survived by her son: Gary L. & A. Karen Dean of Battle Creek, MI; sister: Jane Wilcox of Memphis, TN; her brother -- Perry Lee of Livingston, TN; three grandchildren: Gary & Carissa Dean II, Tracie & Dean Zoll and Leah Campbell; two step-grandchildren: Darrin and Ashely Lusk of Battle Creek, MI; four great-grandsons: Andrew Campbell, Isaac Zoll, Grant Dean, and Rogan Lusk; three great granddaughters - Emalee Campbell, Briony Dean, and Alaya Lusk; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, twin brother William "Lloyd" Lee and brother Hamp Lee, and infant sister Daisy Lee.
She came to Battle Creek in 1943 from Livingston, TN. She married Dwyde D. Dean on November 15, 1947 in Battle Creek, MI., he preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2006.
They were fortunate to have wintered at Lake Region Village in Haines City FL for 22 years where they made many friends .Lois was loved by all who knew her and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, making quilts, crocheting; she also made doll clothes, enjoyed cake decorating and worked on various crafts throughout her life. She was a great cook and loved making desserts.
Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 where the family will be present from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Worden officiating. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to: Great lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
