Obituary for Sonia Ann Harris (Huber)

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Sonia Ann (Huber) Harris, age 83, of Battle Creek, MI, announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, sister, and friend. Sonia passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek in Battle Creek, MI.
Sonia was born August 24, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Maxwell R. Huber and Erma L. (MacGoldrich) Huber.
She had co-owned with her husband Don Harris and operated the Hart Hotel in Battle Creek until her retirement in 1998. As proprietors of the hotel they met many national and world celebrities. Previously she had worked as a beautician for Buskager Beauty and Barber Shop.
She married Donald R. Harris on October 6, 1956 in Angola, Indiana; he survives along with her son: Michael David Harris; brother and sister in law: Ronald M. and Carol Huber of Sanford, NC.
Sonia graduated in 1952 from Lakeview High School. She enjoyed being at home and relaxing from the stresses of the day, she loved working in her flower gardens and quietly would find time to read. She belonged to a Ladies Group who would meet in the Level Park area.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1974 and her mother in 2002.
No visitation is planned at the funeral home; a quiet family gathering at Memorial Park Cemetery in April of 2018. Burial of cremated remains at Memorial Park Cemetery in April 2018. Memorial tributes may be made to: The ARC of Calhoun County, 506 Riverside Drive, Battle Creek 49015.
