The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Vinson King can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Sending heartfelt condolences to Vince's family and friends.
Vince was kind, friendly, super-intelligent and always fun to be around. We met as high school sophomores and quickly became friends. I have fond memories of hanging out with Vince and the fellas after sporting events and on the weekends, piling in my dad's car and riding over to WMU for a party or just hanging around the house I shared with another good friend (Glen Thomas, RIP) right around the corner from Vince.
You'll be missed, RIP, my friend.

Condolence: Vinson was such a gentle friend. I share fond memories of him with others that hung out together in high school. My deepest sympathies for his family and friends who are saddened by his passing. Some of our friends have gone before him and I know he was welcomed by friendly, loving smiles.

Condolence From: CLASS OF '81
Condolence: TO: THE KING FAMILY,
ON BEHALF OF THE BATTLE CREEK CENTRAL CLASS OF 1981, WE EXTEND OUR COLLECTIVE-HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF VINSON JAMES KING. AT THIS TIME MERE WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE SADNESS WE ALL SHARE DURING THIS TIME OF REFLECTION YET, IT IS OUR HOPE THAT HIS LIFE IS CELEBRATED FOR ALL THE GOOD HE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS WORLD.
VINSON WAS ONE OF THE BRIGHTEST IN OUR LOT AND IS SORELY MISSED BY US ALL, INCLUDING HIS COLLEAGUES AROUND THE COUNTRY. SOME OF US KNEW VINSON SINCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WHEN HE FIRST BEGAN TO EXEMPLIFY HIS BRILLIANCE IN THE SCIENCES. WHETHER HE WAS DESIGNING COMBUSTIBLE ENGINES FOR A GO-CART OR CREATING OTHER INTRIGUING DEVICES OUT OF BATTERIES, MAGNETS AND ELECTRICAL WIRES - HE CLEARLY HAD AN AFFINITY TOWARDS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING AT A VERY YOUNG AGE.
VINSON USED HIS INTELLECT TO HUMOR US IN WAYS THAT ONLY HE COULD DO. HE TRULY DANCED-TO-THE-BEAT OF HIS OWN DRUM AND NEEDLESS TO SAY, “HE WILL FOREVER REMAIN OUR CLASS PRINCE”. WE THANK YOU VINSON FOR THE FOND MEMORIES CONTAINED IN OUR HEART AND MIND.
LAST SUMMER WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF SPENDING TIME WITH HIM – FOR SOME OF US THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 30 YEARS. HE WAS STILL THE SAME KIND, GENTLE SOUL THAT KNEW HOW TO MAKE US LAUGH. ALTHOUGH WE HAD NO IDEA IT WOULD BE ONE OF THE LAST TIMES TO BOND WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME REMINISCING ON OLD TIMES AND CATCHING UP ON CURRENT EVENTS IN HIS LIFE. HIS LEGACY WILL ALWAYS BE ADMIRED AS OUR MINDS ARE REFRESHED TO THIS SOLEMN TRUTH: Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. PSALM 144:4
SO FROM ALL OF US, “JOB WELL DONE! MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.”
