Karen Elaine Winchell (Eoff)
Karen E. Winchell, age 71, of Augusta, died Tuesday June 27th, at Borgess Medical Center. Karen was born June 12th 1946 in Delano, California to Chester and Opal (Husky) Eoff. She was a 1964 graduate of Saratoga High School in California and married Theron “Tom” Winchell in 1965. Karen came to Battle Creek in 1967. Karen owned and operated the “Dawn” Donut Shop with her husband Tom, beginning in 1975. The shop became a “Dunkin Donuts” in 1992 until their retirement in 2012. Karen was a member of the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church, Urbandale-Level Park Business Association, Good Sam’s Flaky Flyers, and the Kal-Crk Kickers Line Dancers. Karen had been involved in Blue Birds as a troop leader; she enjoyed gardening, reading, cake decorating, making wedding cakes, traveling, doll collecting and country music. Karen’s favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her husband , Theron “Tom” Winchell, a daughter, Julie Winchell, of Augusta, grandchildren, Keith (Kimberly) Craigmyle of Battle Creek, Dakota Keller of Iowa, Austin (Michaela) Keller of Leonidas, MI and Five great grandchildren, brothers, Kenneth (Carol) Eoff of Morgan Hills, CA, and Dwight (Diane) Eoff,of Denair, CA. Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Galbraith and her parents. The family will receive friends Friday July 7th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N.
