Elizabeth "Jody" Fisher (Cosey)
Elizabeth “Jody” Cosey Fisher was born on August 9, 1947 in Indianola, MS to Leonard and Elizabeth Cosey. She was the second eldest of eight children. As a child she attended Indianola public schools, graduating from Gentry High School. After graduation she moved to Battle Creek. She retired from the V.A. Medical Center after 35 years of service. Elizabeth was a member of Maranatha Original Church of God. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family. Elizabeth passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert Fisher; step-daughter, Dana (Myron) McNutt; granddaughter, Shiyana Hoyt; step-granddaughters, Makenna and Heloni McNutt; brothers, Leroy (Mary) McKinney and Alphonso Scott, both of Battle Creek; sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Jones of Mt. Pleasant and Linda McKinney of Battle Creek; a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elizabeth Cosey; daughter, Swasszee Cosey; and siblings, Maceo McKinney, Floyd McKinney, and Shirley McKinney-Tate.
Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Maranatha Original Church of God with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Geraldine T. Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
