Otis C. Williams, age 90, of Battle Creek, died Saturday October 29th 2016, at his home. Otis was born January 30th, 1926 in Americus, Georgia, to Charlie Holtzclaw Sr. and Flora Belle Williams and came to Battle Creek in 1960, from Detroit. Otis served in the United States Navy in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He had been employed by the United Steel and Wire Co. for over 30 years, retiring in the late 1990’s. Otis was a member of First Salem Baptist Church and the United Auto Workers, union. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, golfing and watching western movies and television shows. Otis is survived by his son, Ricardo R. (Chrishana) Wilkins of Battle Creek, daughters, Briana Fullerton, of Battle Creek, and Ada Brown of California, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A special friend, Debra “Ann” Wilkins, sisters, Jean Hill, of Aliquippa, PA, Maddie Wilson , Evelyn Holtzclaw, Ethel Brown, all of Washington, and Virginia Easley of Columbus, GA, brothers, James Holtzclaw of Atlanta, GA , John Holtzclaw of St. Petersburg , FL , and Charles Glover of Aliquippa, PA, and a special cousin Louis Shaw, of Detroit. Otis is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean (Hardwick) Williams, and a daughter, Debbie Pulley, a sister, Ruby Pringle and brothers, Charles , Bruce and Alexander Holtzclaw. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the First Salem Baptist Church, 370 Capital Ave. SW. Interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
