Robert “Lynn” McGrew, age 63, of Battle Creek, died Sunday October 23rd, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Carmel , Indiana. Lynn was born January 1, 1953 in Battle Creek, to Robert and Frances (Kinser) McGrew and was a lifelong resident. Lynn was a 1971 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and was senior class president. He then attended Kellogg Community College and received his Associates Degree. Lynn served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1976. He married Toyoko “Toni” Miyamoto on June 24, 1977. Lynn had worked for Speeds Koffee Shops, Hilltop Advertising, and the Kellogg Co. for 10 years and CRP Clean Resource Co for the past 19 years. Lynn was currently and member of the Battle Creek Central Class of “Class of 71” reunion committee. He loved to camp and hunt with his friends on Beaver Island and enjoy the outdoors. Lynn’s greatest joy came from his devotion to his family and friends, he quickly became a friend with everyone he met and would never have a bad thing to say about anyone. He lived his entire life as a great example of a “good man”. Lynn is survived by his wife, Toyoko, “Toni” McGrew, a daughter, Paula Sammons, of Kalamazoo, sons, Paul (Peggy) Sammons of Collierville, TN, Johnny Sammons and Michael McGrew , both of Battle Creek, a sister, Sandy Lytle of Ft. Wayne , IN, Six grandchildren and One great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Patricia McGrew. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM Noon, Saturday November 5, 2016 at the funeral home, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
