Obituary for Duane D. Freeman

Duane D. Freeman, 60, of California, formerly of Battle Creek passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Sacramento, CA. He was born April 13, 1954 in Battle Creek, the son of David and Jessie (Wilkins) Freeman. Duane served in the US Army. He had been employed at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco as an engineer. Duane enjoyed playing tennis, watching basketball and football and listening to music, especially jazz. He was studying the Bible and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his children, Saundria Brumfield, DeCarlos Freeman, Wayne Freeman, Donte Freeman, Mecca Freeman, and Shayla Freeman; siblings, Bernard (Daphne) Williams, Starling (Alfred) Jones, David (Judy) Freeman, Quincy (Flora) Freeman, Denise (Harold) Kemp, and Joseph (Sandra) Freeman; and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Jessie Freeman; brother, Wardell Williams; and sister, Paulette Freeman.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Bernard Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Skylawn Memorial Park in Redwood City, CA.
