Obituary for Harry Clark

Harry R. Clark, age 84, of Delton, died Saturday August 13, 2011 at Evergreen Senior Care Center. Harry was born August 19, 1926 in Jonesville, MI, to William and Dorothea (Howard) Clark and came to Battle Creek as a child. Harry attended Battle Creek Schools and served in the US Navy in WWII. Harry married Barbara Beamish in 1947. She was killed in auto accident in 1964. Harry married Esther Greenfield-Smith in 1965. Harry was employed by the Clark Equipment Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1980.
Harry was a member of the American Legion Post #45 of Hastings and the Clark Retirees Club. He is survived by his wife, Esther, sons; David L. (Bonnie) Clark of Richland, Timothy A. (Ann) Clark of Williamston, MI, daughters; Gloria J. (Chuck) Halligan, of Dowling, Julie A. (John Stacey) Norton, of Bellevue, and Diana K. (Robin) Avery of Battle Creek, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, a brother; Donn (Tina) Clark of Florida. Harry was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara and their infant son, a grandson, Patrick Clark, and his brother, Gerald Clark. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM Friday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service 223 N. Bedford Rd. A service to celebrate his life will begin at 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Committal will take place at Banfield Cemetery with the American Legion Post #45 conducting honors. Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post #45 of Hastings.
