Mary A. Zinke
Mary A. (Trick) Zinke, age 84, died June 2, 1010, with her family by her side, at the Upjohn Community Care Center in Kalamazoo. Mary struggled for the last several years with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born November 25, 1925 in Hickory Corners to Elias and Edith (Garrett) Trick. She married, Melvin A. Zinke on December 31, 1942. He died on December 9, 1970. Mary was employed by the Kellogg Company for 45 years and retired in April of 1990. For many years after retirement, Mary was very active in various Kellogg Company retiree organizations and volunteered in the Oncology Department at Battle Creek Health Systems. Mary was also very active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Ann (Loren) McKinstry and Eileen (Dennis) Cook, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, sisters in law, Doris Lester and Alice Lester. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, brothers, Leonard, Lawrence and Robert Lester, sisters, Helen (Elwood) Eddy, and Betty (Jim) Sackrider, sister in law, Marian Lester. The family will receive friends, Sunday from 4-6 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service 223 N. Bedford Rd. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 349 Capital Ave. NE. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of Southwest Michigan, or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
