Katherine Mae Bigley, 72, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was born June 21, 1946 in Grayling, MI the daughter of Herbert and Effie (Higley) Haley. Kathy married Phillip Bigley on January 6, 1967 in Battle Creek. She worked for the Battle Creek Public Schools as a bus driver from Sept. 1999 to July 2010. Kathy enjoyed scrap-booking, crocheting, camping, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed bowling and even played in some of the leagues. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved her family fiercely. Kathy was strong willed and had a lot of fight in her. But she also had the kindest, most generous soul. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband, Phil; children, Tina Balch, Brenda (Jerry) Sutfin, and Donald (Leigh) Bigley; brother, Arthur (Kathy) Haley; 6 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; 5 great grandchildren; and a step-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Effie; and grandsons, Zachary Lee Sutfin and Wyatt Edward Bigley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19th from 1:30-3:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with a memorial service to immediately follow at 3:00 PM. Memorial tributes may be made to the funeral home toward funeral expenses.
