Obituary for Robert Duncan "Bob" Beck

Robert Duncan Beck, 70, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home. He was born February 15, 1948 in Waco, TX the son of Harold and Meroba (Fitzhugh) Duncan. Bob graduated from Lakeview High School class of 1966. He married Sharon VanHoose on October 14, 1972 in Battle Creek. Bob started his working career with Eaton Co., working there for 6 years before they closed. After Eaton’s Bob worked as a Civil Engineering Inspector in the Battle Creek area for 6 years then continued in to the Ann Arbor area. Bob worked for another 30 plus years in the Ann Arbor area before his retirement. He was an avid golfer and true Detroit Lions Fan. Bob, in his younger years enjoyed playing pool and taking hikes in the outdoors. He truly enjoyed taking trips up north and listening to music. Bob was hard working and loved his family fiercely.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Beck; children, Joel (Heather) Beck and Sarah Beck; grandson, Jeffrey Beck; siblings, Allyne (Douglas) Maltby and Guil (Susan) Beck; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
