Obituary for
Shirley Ann Wing (Sult)
Shirley Ann Wing, 67, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. She was born May 16, 1951 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Winifred Otto and Shirley Virginia (Carrier) Sult. Shirley graduated from Gull Lake High School, class of 1968. She married Ronald E. Wing on March 16, 1968 in Battle Creek, MI. Shirley and Ronald were married for over 50 beautiful years. She started her working career at Hudson’s as a beauty advisor. Shirley worked for Hudson’s for several years before she and Ron decided to venture in to owning and operating their own business. Together they bought Stimac’s Grocery. Through hard work and dedication Shirley and Ron opened up two Mancino’s pizza and grinders restaurants, which became family owned and operated. They continued their journey shortly after opening Mancino’s and purchased Bailey Park Thriftway and became partners with Ron’s brother Brian and his wife, Ginny. Shirley helped run all of these businesses then semi-retired and bought a place in Florida for the winters. She loved God, family, and her grandchildren deeply. She looked forward to going on shopping trips with her daughters and best friend Diane Elwell and going to deer camp with all the family hanging out grilling and target practice. Shirley enjoyed riding her Harley, four wheeling, camping, traveling, working in her flower garden, planting trees and vegetables, and watching her plantings grow. She had friends from all around the globe that would come and visit her every summer. She loved having people in her home and if you were to ask her friends, they’d tell you she was the best host around. Shirley had a soft heart and loved everyone, including nature and animals. If there were more Shirley’s in the world, it would be a better place to live! Heaven gained a true angel and there is a brighter light in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; daughters, Melinda (Jeff) Gallant and Jessica Wing; brothers, Kenneth (Rosanne) Sult and David Sult; grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Sult.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 26th from 5:00-8:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
