Obituary for David Lee Walters

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of David Lee Walters, age 49, of Battle Creek, MI announces the passing of our dear son, brother, grandson and friend on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, MI. He was born December 31, 1968 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Duane Lee Walters, Jr. and Carol Lee (Toner) Walters.

He is survived by his mother: Carol Lee Walters, Battle Creek, MI; his twin brother: Duane Lee Walters, III of Battle Creek, MI; his god father William Walters of Hastings, MI; his God mother: Mary Hills of East Leroy, MI; his paternal grandmother: Gladys Walters of Battle Creek and his cats at home: Domino, Suzy Q, Pixie and Dixie.
He was a lifelong resident; he graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1990. He attended the Cheff Riding Center in elementary school.

He loved going out to the casino, loved playing video games, and liked lending a helping hand especially in Marshall at Tendercare Nursing Home where he assisted with BINGO and brought Hershey bars to the residents. He adored cats as pets through the years and loved and tended to their needs. He was a huge University of Michigan fan, so much so that his twin brother painted his room Maze and Blue while he was in the hospital and then surprised him. He was always wearing a happy smiling face. He was such a loving individual; the nurses were very emotional about his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father Duane Walters, Jr.; grandparents: Duane Walters, Sr., Gladys and Alton Toner, and Uncle William Toner.

Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM.
