Obituary for Felton Harrell

Felton Harrell was born in Selma, Alabama on June 13th, 1952 to the blessed union of Clarence and Arizona Harrell, where he was the 4th child of 6. Felton moved to Michigan in 1954 with his family and grew up in Detroit, MI where he lived until finally making his home in Battle Creek, MI and he resided there for over 25 years. Felton made his final transition and gained his beautiful new wings on Monday, September 17, 2018. Felton attended Murray Wright High School in Detroit until he made the decision to join the U.S Army. He served in the armed forces for 3 years, with a stent in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in April of 1974. Felton was a driver for the U.S Postal service for over 20 years. He also drove for several years with B&B Trucked, where he later retired from. One of Felton’s highest achievements in his life lifetime was to celebrate 25 years of sobriety this past year. Felton Rededicated himself to the Lord in 2012, under the leadership of Pastor Geraldine Richardson at Maranatha Original Church of God in Battle Creek. Felton loved his church and served on several ministries. Felton met his devoted wife Tammi in 2010 and they married August 6th, 2017.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tammi Hollis-Harrell; son, Marques Barton (Margaret); stepdaughter, Akia Griswold; stepson, Davion McKinley; grandson, Tobias Barton; brothers, Mose Harrison (Johnny Lue), Clarence Harrell, Jr., Edward “Will” Harrell (Ann); sisters, Lutherine Hatcher, Dorris Harrell (Clarence), and Cuterenia Harrell (Arthur); uncle, Johnson Taylor (Jimmie; mother in Law, Bertha Flenorl; brothers in law, Robert Hollis and Dirail Flenorl; 11 nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews; very special sister/cousin, Geraldine; and a host of other family and friends.
Felton was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Arizona; brothers in Law, Paul Hatcher and David Hollis.
Visitation will be held at Maranatha Original Church of God on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 12:30 PM with Pastor Geraldine T. Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
