Patricia Rose Brown (Sims)
Patricia Rose (Sims) Brown, 71, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born August 12, 1947 in Pasacola, MO the daughter of David and Deborah (Welch) Sims. Patricia married Johnnie Brown on June 14, 1969 in Battle Creek. She began her career working for the Kellogg Company. She worked for Kellogg’s for 8 years before continuing her career with the Battle Creek public school systems. Patricia retired from the BC school systems after 12 years of service due to her health. She was an avid bowler, who enjoyed singing, and cooking. Patricia and her sister, Renee loved to go to garage sales together. She had a special group of friends that she played cards with on the weekends.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie; sons, David (Stephanie) Brown and Devon Brown; step-son, Harold “Wayne” Scott; very special sister-in-law, Willie Mae Lee; siblings, Carol Lee, Annette Usher, Janette McCaty, Stephanie Walker, Marilyn Savage, Janet Ferguson, Cecil Grantham, Margaret Sims, L. Renee Sims-Irby, and Sarah Sims; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marcel Usher; and sisters, Jackie Benson and Rose E. Sims.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 19th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. E. R. Hess, Sr. of First Pentecostal Family Worship Center officiating. Burial will be at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
