Obituary for Bonnie Jeanne Davis (Woodmansee)

Bonnie Jeanne Davis (Woodmansee)
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Bonnie Jeanne Davis, age 61, of Scotts, MI, announces the unexpected passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend due to an automobile accident on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Kalamazoo County, MI.
She was born August 20, 1956 in Kamamazoo, MI the daughter to Norma Jean Hayward and adopted by Gerald Lee Woodmansee.
Bonnie was a bus driver for the Climax-Scotts school system for 14 years and had retired. She had previously been a cashier at Meijer's for 16 years, homemaker and volunteer for many areas at Gracespring Bible Church.
She married her high school sweetheart Eugene N. Davis at the Bedford Bible Church on April 17, 1976.
She is survived by her husband: Eugene "Gene" Neil Davis of Scotts, MI; her father: Gerald Lee Woodmansee of Bedford, MI; her four daughters: Nicole E. & Kurtis Fraaza of Richland, MI; Brianne J. & Cory Harmsen of Kalamazoo, MI; Ashley N. Davis of Scotts, MI; Elizabeth R. & Jeffrey Cabello of Kalamazoo, MI; and eight grandchildren: Nolan, Koby and Rylee Fraaza; Gabby, Emmett Cabello and Davis Harmsen; and two grandchildren arriving in February 2019.
She was a constant presence at her church where she volunteered for many ministries to include: usher, vacation Bible school, mothers of preschoolers (MOPs), scrapbooking events, First Impressions and most often would be found in the kitchen cooking for events. She volunteered for several years with Family Life Ministries of Kalamazoo. In the community, she had volunteered as a 4-H and Girl Scouting leader. She had many hobbies but really enjoyed going to the movies, scrapbooking and stamping. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior and serving others. Next to her love for the Lord, she adored her family. When not at the church, she poured herself into her grandchildren babysitting or attending the sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Norma Jean Hayward; grandparents: Willard and Dora Hayward.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31st, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland, MI. The funeral services celebrating Bonnie’s life will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Gracespring Bible Church of Richland. A luncheon at church will follow then a processional to the cemetery for burial. Memorial tributes may be made to: Bonnie J. Davis Educational Fund @ Chemical Bank, 8025 Creekside Drive, Portage, MI 49024 Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
