Dorlis Stoudinger, 89, of Battle Creek, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born July 20, 1928 in Garrett, KY the daughter of Everett and Olivia (Vanderpool) Bentley. Dorlis married Rufus Reed in 1950 and he passed away in 1973. Dorlis worked for Speed’s Coffee Shop for 22 years before her retirement. In 1980 Dorlis married Kenneth Stoudinger who passed away in 1996. Dorlis was a member of the Urbandale Baptist Church since 1971. She was very active in the church; involved in the choir, the Ladies Missionary Circle and had been a past hostess. She enjoyed gardening, the spring and summer months, reading, and shopping. Dorlis cherished her time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Peggy (Thomas) Bell, Susan (Nate) Sparks, and Joseph (Tammy) Reed; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her brother, Orville (Eileen) Bentley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Rufus; second husband, Kenneth; grandson, Tommy Bell; and sisters, Sheila Bentley, Beulah Shepard, and Ollie Pittman.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday, July 12th from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Ronald Anderson of Urbandale Baptist Church officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to Urbandale Baptist Church.
