Obituary for
Kenneth Elwood Yingling
Kenneth E. Yingling, Sr., 81, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Laurels of Bedford. He was born July 1, 1928 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Laverne E. and Florence (Hartley) Yingling. He married Eunice M. Hattaway on August 2, 1947 in Brewton, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman Second Class. Kenneth worked for the Battle Creek Public Schools in maintenance. He enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling with his wife, Eunice. Kenneth was a stage hand for W.K. Kellogg Auditorium and he was a projector operator for the Bijou Theater. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post 298.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice M. Yingling; children, Kenneth E. Yingling, Jr. of Battle Creek, Constance (Gary) Ludlow of Battle Creek, John (Carla) Yingling of East Alton, IL, Richard (Norma) Yingling of Battle Creek, Michael (Gina) Yingling of Albuquerque, NM, Melinda (Michael) Rochenbach of Drew, MS, Steven Yingling of Albuquerque, NM, Eric Yingling of Battle Creek; brother, Richard Yingling; sisters, Audrey Martin and Joyce Sleeman; 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Albert Yingling.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ronald K. Kinzel Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice.
