Wanda Lene Jones, 69, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at her home. She was born August 16, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant, TN the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Green) Moore. Wanda graduated from Clark High School in TN. She worked for Battle Creek Health System for 30 plus years before her retirement. She married the late Cleo Jones, Sr. on June 23, 1969 in Battle Creek. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and was an Evangelist at Bethlehem Temple of Springfield. While at Bethlehem Temple Wanda also preached and shared her love of God with the congregation. Wanda enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends and family. She had a love for writing poetry and would write poetry for the church.
She is survived by her children, Angela (Edward) Bonner, Stephanie Jones, Cleo (Diane) Jones, Jr., and Timothy Jones; siblings, Ethel (Albert) Hampton, Shirley Robinson, Debra (Frank) Taylor, Ramona Moore, James (Monika) Moore, Sharon Braden, and Johnny Moore; aunt, Cora Armstrong; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleo, Sr.; grandson, Darrien LaGrand; and her brother, Joe Moore.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Timothy Troxler officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
