Therese Marie Geibig, age 88, of Battle Creek, died peacefully with her family beside her on Thursday, March 29th 2018. She was born July 7, 1929 in Benton Harbor to Cyril and Eva (Durner) Latus and has been a resident of Battle Creek for 53 years. She was a graduate of Hartford High School and Western Michigan University. Therese was a dedicated elementary school teacher for the Battle Creek Public Schools, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Church. She also loved nature and the outdoors. Her family was her priority and loved all of them dearly. She is survived by her husband Ernest Geibig of 64 years, and children; David (Karen) Geibig, Robert Michael (Bernice) Geibig, Tom (Nancy) Geibig, Shannon (Larry) Geibig, Charles Geibig, and nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday 5 to 7. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday 11:30 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 229 Collier Ave. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Jerome Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Bachman Hebble Funeral Service
