Obituary for Robert Joseph Mullenix

Robert J. Mullenix Sr. age 84, of Battle Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Bronson, Battle Creek. Bob was born June 6, 1933 in Battle Creek to Sanford and Bertha (Wagamon) Mullenix and spent many of his childhood years living in Woodland, Michigan on the farm with his Aunt Ruth and Uncle Walter Hershberger. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1951. He married the former Patricia Carlson on August 15, 1952 and they have been married 65 years. Bob was employed by the Kellogg Company for 39 years and retired in 1991. He was also a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in a Barber Shop Quartet, hunting, playing golf and softball. Bob was a talented mechanic and had built go-carts and dune buggies. He is survived by his wife Pat, sons, Robert “RJ” (Michel) Mullenix Jr. and Donald Mullenix, both of Battle Creek, Betty (Bob) Davis of Hudsonville, MI, and Jennifer (Bob) Palmer of Battle Creek, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents: Bertha Mullenix, Walter and Ruth Hershberger, sisters, Elizabeth Mullenix, Betty Ellis and Gwendolyn Wilson, and a brother, John Mullenix. In lieu of flowers , memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church
