Obituary for Jennifer Lee Babas

Jennifer Lee Babas of Battle Creek went to be with her Lord and savior March 8, 2018. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 10, 1950 the daughter of Donald Gus Babas and Virginia Lee (Williams) Babas. She was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1968. She went to work for Post Cereals (General Foods) in 1968 after graduating high school and retired in 2005 after 37 years of loyal service.
Jennifer loved spending time with her granddaughter Amber any opportunity she could get. She loved attending family events and especially loved being around her little grandnieces and grandnephews. She also loved to play cards, especially euchre and Rummy and that girl could count cards!
Jen was a meticulous house keeper and organizer and enjoyed keeping her home neat, tidy and organized. At family picnics and get-togethers you’d always find Jen organizing and cleaning the buffet table and cleaning up after the event was over.
Jen spoke her mind, but under that seemingly tough exterior, she was an honest woman with a beautiful giving spirit, something that many folks outside of her family may not have known. She was tender hearted and generous towards those in need, especially little kids.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father in 2004, daughter, Crystal Gale Babas in 2016, life partner, Thomas H. Garnett and brother in-law, Jack S. Gardner in 2010 and a niece, Christy L. Wesley in 2012. Surviving are her Mother, sisters: Sharon I. Gardner and Lueann M. (Bruce) Skaggs, Brother: Donald P. (Dora) Babas, sister in-law, Debra W.
