Nancy Carroll Knighten, age 86, of Battle Creek, died Friday January 12, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. Nancy was born March 13, 1931 in Battle Creek, to Frederick and Dorothy (Smith) Henderson and was a 1948 graduate of Lakeview High School. Nancy had been employed by the Ben Franklin Five and Dime and Baker Brothers Cleaners. Nancy was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues at all of the area bowling alleys. She loved listening to music and watching musical variety shows on television and playing board games. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ladley of Battle Creek, sons Joseph Knighten of Battle Creek and William (Sharon) Knighten of Deming , New Mexico, grandson, Joseph (Tina) Knighten, of Battle Creek, great grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Knighten, and many other step-grand and great grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Knighten, sisters, Shirley Stanton and Beverly Lapekas, son in law, Thomas Ladley. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday January 18th, at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd.
