Robert John Lenz, 74, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center. He was born February 2, 1943 in Battle Creek, the son of John and Leona (DeMarlie) Lenz. Bob was in the Air National Guard for 6 years. He married Daisy Leaf on October 23, 1965 in Battle Creek. Daisy predeceased Bob on May 20, 2012. Bob and Daisy loved to take walks on the beach together and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Bob was a hardworking man. Some of his past jobs included Road and Turf, Struble’s Hardware, and owning and operating Lenz Mower Service. He loved golfing, bowling, and fishing. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family and playing Aggravation.
He is survived his children, Theresa (Jeff) Bergstresser and John (Ashlee Elmer) Lenz; sisters, Joan (Ron) Zerfas and Joyce (Donald) Kilbourn; grandchildren, Jessica, Sabrina & Heather Nilson, Thomas Bergstresser, Madison Lenz, and Tawni Lenz; great grandchildren, Whitney Hernandez and Kaelynn & Preston Hamilton, Emma Crapo, Parker Byrd, Tamari Harris, and Sonya Bergstresser; nieces and nephews; and good friends, Richard Mead and Eileen Mowry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Daisy Lenz.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 20th from 4:00-6:00 PM at Rhema Word Outreach Center located at 21342 Capital Avenue NE. Memorial tributes may be made to the family.
