Barbara Jean Bowdish, 89, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born February 28, 1928 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Roy and Arlene (Calkins) Baird. She married the late Delbert Bowdish on October 23, 1982 in Glendale, AZ. Barb worked for the Kellogg Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and a volunteer for the Leila Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, living on the lake, and Monday night Bible study group. She was an avid reader and loved her animals. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Linda Cutler, Thomas (Margaret) Butler, Judy Butler, Karen Bowdish, Joni DeRyder, and Linda Ann Dobberteen; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her best friend her dog, Molly Sue.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Delbert.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday, December 28th from 12:00-1:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM. A private family burial will be held at Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield Twp., MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the Humane Society.
