Robert Lawrence "Bob" Dunn
Robert L. Dunn, age 53, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2017 at his home. Bob was born November 16, 1963 in Owosso, Michigan to Dr. Lawrence and MaryAnn (Saul) Dunn. Bob was a 1982 graduate of Owosso High School where he excelled at golf and was named to the All-State team in his junior and senior year. Bob attended Ferris State College and received his Bachelor degree in marketing in 1986. He met his future wife Bernadette Bennett while at Ferris State and they married June 16, 1990. Bob had been employed by the Midwest Abrasives Co. and U.S. Brick Co. as a National Sales Manager in Owosso, Michigan. Bob owned and operated the Robert Dunn State Farm Insurance Agency in Union City, MI from 1995 to the present, and had been awarded the prestigious Presidents Club Award. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting. He had been a member of the Owosso Country Club, Riverside Country Club, Battle Creek Country Club and St. Joseph’s Church in Battle Creek. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette, daughters, Alexis A. (Jeffery Gargano) Dunn, of Coloma, MI, Brianna M. (Nicholas Ayres) Dunn of Grand Rapids, MI, his mother, MaryAnn Dunn of Owosso, MI, sisters Sandra (Daniel) Donohue, of Marshall, MI, and Nancy (Gerald) Hawkins, of Denver, CO, a brother, Brian Dunn of Venice, FL, mother-in-law, Suzanne (Herb Keller) Sinclair of Battle Creek, father-in-law, David Sinclair of West Long Branch NJ, brother-in-law Rod (Elizabeth) Bennett of Williamsburg, VA, nieces, Ashley Nurski and Samantha Donahue, a nephew, Jack Dunn, sisters-in-law Shawn (Brian) Geiger of West Long Branch, NJ and DeLynn (Gary) Schecher of Oceanport, NJ, and many other nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Lawrence Dunn and father-in-law Bruce A. Bennett. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service 223 N. Bedford Rd. Battle Creek. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 61 N. 23rd St. Battle Creek. Memorials may be given to Alcoholics Anonymous or the Dunn children’s college fund.
