John D. VanDenOever, age 69, of Battle Creek, died Friday October 20, 2017 at his home. John Was born August 21, 1948 in Kalamazoo, to Arthur and Marjorie (Klomp) VanDenOever. John was a 1966 graduate of Delton High School and served in Vietnam with the US Army from 1968 to 1970. He had been employed for 30 years by Ralston Purina. John was an avid sports fan and athlete; he played golf, softball, and bowling. He also enjoyed keeping up with favorite teams on TV. John is survived by his wife, Robin, sons, Jason VanDenOever and John (Laci) VanDenOever , and their mother, Mary VanDenOever, all of Battle Creek, his mother, Marjorie VanDenOever-Ghrist,of Cincinnati, OH, stepson, Mac (Dana) Carlton of Battle Creek, a granddaughter, Kendall Maiize VanDenOever, step grandchildren, Aaron and Joseph Carlton, a sisters, Marjorie (Gary) Morlock, of Palm Springs, CA, and Laura Porter of Sarasota, FL. and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father, Arthur VanDenOever and a brother Michael VanDenOever.
