Tex Oliver Pelfrey, 81, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Advantage Living Center. He was born March 26, 1936 in Dayton, TN the son of Thomas and Caroline (Russell) Pelfrey. He married Linnie McCurry on April 30, 1955 in Dayton, OH. Tex worked for MI Carton for 35 years, becoming a Millwright before his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, going to garage sales, and hunting. Tex was very creative and good with his hands; he would take rocks and make jewelry out of them. He was a leather craftsmen and enjoyed photography as well.
He is survived by his wife, Linnie; children, Linda Meyers and Timothy Pelfrey; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and his brothers, Harley and Bob Pelfrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Sara Pelfrey; and a brother and 3 sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses located at 5561 E. Morgan Rd., Battle Creek. Memorial tributes may be made to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of PA.
