Vinson James King, age 54, of Battle Creek, died Thursday June 22, 2017 at his home. Vinson was born February 2, 1963 in Battle Creek, to Stanley and Eva (Holder) King. Vinson was a 1981 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and a graduate of ITT Technical School in Fort Wayne, IN. He had lived and worked in Detroit, Chicago and San Antonio before recently returning to Battle Creek. Vinson had been employed by Rockwell International, MCI Telecommunications and Chase Bank. Vinson enjoyed making movies of his family, cooking and grilling, spending time on the computer and building electric bicycles by modifying them with electric motors. Vinson is survived by his daughter, Tiara M. King of Atlanta, GA, a grandson Alijah J. King , granddaughter, Aiyanna D.J. King, a brother, Brian (Karen) King, of Schoolcraft, MI, aunts, Jean (Ben) Hutchinson, of Portage, MI and Louise Marshall of Battle Creek. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday (today) at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 7th, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given the Battle Creek Urban League.
