Barbara Jean Back, 78, of Climax, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born July 8, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Everett and Fern (Wilson) Ling. She married Glen Back on April 1, 1983 in Battle Creek. Barb worked 20 plus years for Pennfield Township as their Deputy Clerk. She was a member of the North Athens Baptist Church, American Legion Post #465, and the Quilters Guild. She served as a past Secretary for the MI Chapter of the Second Calvary and was a member of the Second Calvary Association. Barb enjoyed traveling and sewing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband and family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; daughters, Renee (Jim) Bolz and their son, Kevin, Connie (Scott) Votava and their children, Colby (Amber), Jeff, Seth, Parker, Evalyn, and Carter, and Susan Back and her children Alex and Nathan; sons, Tom (Cheryl) Back and their children, Destiny (Jeremy), Alyssa, Konner, and Lance, Ron Back and his children, Allen, Ryan, and Justin, Dan (Tonya) Back and their children, Jordan and Jacob and Charles Back and his children, Phillip and Ben; Cassie her great granddaughter who was very special to her heart, along with many other great grandchildren; and her beloved sister, Janet Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob; and sister, Erlene.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:30 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Burial will be at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to North Avenue Church of God.
