Obituary for Berdy A. Galovich (Soto)

Berdy A. Galovich, 68, of Richland, passed away peacefully Friday, June 9, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born June 22, 1948 in El Paso, TX the daughter of Jose' and Margarita (Avalos) Soto. She married Bill Galovich, Jr. on April 28, 1979 in Kalamazoo. Berdy worked for multiple insurance companies throughout the Tri-County area during her working career. She was a past President of the Kalamazoo Medical Billing Coders and a past precinct worker in Richland. Berdy was an avid gardener that spent many hours tending to her flower gardens and was a collector of the Royal Family, especially Princess Diana. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchild. She looked forward to holidays and decorating, cooking, and the gathering that went with them. Christmas was her favorite holiday, having the house covered in decorations and multiple trees. Fourth of July was a close tie, in that her and Bill developed a family tradition of a Fourth of July snowball fight. She was an amazing mother, wife, sister, and grandmother that will be deeply missed.
She is survived by husband, Bill, Jr.; daughters, Denise (Scott) Pyle, Deborah Munoz-Parra, and Kristi (Christopher) Marshall; grandchildren, Ashley Pyle, Justin Pyle, Dillon Thompson, Nicholas Sacchetti, Gabriel Sacchetti, Austin Galovich, Logan Marshall, and Karis Marshall; great granddaughter, Alexandria Thompson; siblings, Ramon (Irma) Soto, Aurora (George) Avedicion, Yolanda Soto, Ruben (Sandra) Soto, Sandra (Robert) Rubi, and Yvonne Alawne; and special brother-in-law, Alex Galovich.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. In Lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo or American Diabetes Association.
