Condolence: Just a few days ago, I looked again at photos from our gathering at the Museum and so longed to be able to hear Duff's laugh, hear a story of Battle Creek history, and know again, the genuineness of his caring spirit. I miss him. But I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if there is a museum in heaven, he is busy working there, happy as a clam, today. No pain, no worries, just pure joy.

Condolence: Words can't even explain the shock, my grandfather was a good man and taught me a lot in the short time I was able to spend with him growing up. I'll never forget when he would let me drive the tractor around his property on Kirby Rd. & when he would let me "work" with him when I was young at Kellogg's Cereal City. Rest easy Grandpa, please say hi to Jordan for me.

Condolence: Duff was a great man. I loved listening to his stories about Battle Creek history and our Adventist pioneers. He hired me at the Village even though I knew very little about practical work. Duff helped strengthen my work ethic, make me more well-rounded and grew my character. He will be truly missed. My prayers go out to Joyce and the whole family in this time of loss. And looking forward to seeing Duff in Heaven where we can hear more stories under the Tree of Life.

Condolence: Our favorite memories of Duff: playing table games in Amy's living room--laughing more than playing, listening to his fascinating stories, and of course, helping him clean and rearrange all the great museum relics--Duff did such great work. We pray for peace and strength for you and the family, Landon and Gemma Anderson

Condolence: Without a doubt, Duff contributed more to our history of the Battle Creek community. He worked hard to stretch the history of this community to as many people as possible. He loved his family and then loved Battle Creek and Kellogg history. He worked hard and enjoyed meeting new people all the time. We need more people like Duff Stoltz in our community. Rest in PEACE, Duff. You made a difference in our community.

Condolence: We all need people in our lives who are role models of decency, integrity, faith, and grace. People who inspire us to be better ourselves and who help us believe in ourselves. Duff was that kind of person to me and more, much more. He was a treasure to our community and to the preservation of its rich history. How blessed we are to have had him in our midst.

Condolence: The world for me is a diminished place with the passing of Duff. I had the privilege of knowing and working with him for the past 37 years in our effort to preserve Seventh-day Adventist history. He was truly a unique individual. Both the City of Battle Creek and the Seventh-day Adventist Church were blessed by what he did, and therefore have sustained a real loss with his passing. My heartfelt sympathy and love goes to Joyce, and to Garth and Amy, and your families. May God be especially close to all of you in this time of grief and loss as together we anticipate the resurrection when Jesus returns, and we can be reunited with Duff.--Jim Nix

Condolence: Duff was one of the finest people we have ever known. He was kind, smart, and unfailingly generous of spirit. With his tireless efforts to collect and preserve the history of Battle Creek, he has left the community a legacy that will never be matched and for which we are all grateful. May he rest in peace and his family take comfort in knowing that so many people will remember him for the good he has done for each and every person whose life he has touched. --Jane and Marvin Ratner

Condolence: Duff was an amazing fellow and an irreplaceable historian. It is mostly due to his diligence and collector enthusiasm that so many things have been saved from the Battle Creek Sanitarium in particular and Battle Creek history in general. Besides that, he was a wonderful man,a terrific story teller and always supportive of local history. Rest in peace, Duff. You will be missed.
