Bruce Thomas VanNocker, Sr., 64, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home. He was born February 6, 1953 in Battle Creek, the son of Claude and Priscilla VanNocker. Bruce married Carol Bauman on February 17, 1984 in Battle Creek. He worked 30 plus years for Post Cereal before his retirement. Bruce taught Hunter's Safety for 20 plus years through Post Sportsman's Club and was a past officer as well. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching westerns, and keeping the candy bowl filled. He loved to cook and bake. Bruce was in his element when he was in the kitchen or on the grill. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; mother, Priscilla; children, Donnie Harrison, Jackie (Dax) Freeman, Bruce (Linda) VanNocker, Jr., Paul VanNocker, Meghan (Shawn) Testolin, and Jessica (Tim) VanNocker-Harris; sisters, Brenda Troutner and Sally (Mike) Hoeksema; grandchildren, Chris, Zach, Emily, Braden, and Claudia; and a great grandson, Jax.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude and daughter, Debbie Walterspaugh.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Post Sportsman’s Club on Hubbard Road.
