Jan J. Healey, age 78, of Fine Lake, died Wednesday May 17, 2017 at his home. Jan was born July 12, 1938 in Battle Creek, to John and Frances (Johnson) Healey . Jan attended Battle Creek Schools and served in the Marine Corp Reserve for six years. Jan married the former Jackie Ross in 1959. He had been employed by the Kellogg Company for 30 Years, retiring in 1996. Jan was an avid race car driver and had driven stock cars, sprint cars and midget cars. Jan loved cars and working on them, he had attended the time trials at Indianapolis Speedway many times and never missed the chance to watch a NASCAR race on TV. Jan’s greatest joy came from being a great dad and grandfather; he coached little league baseball, hockey, softball and always attended children and grandchildren’s functions. Jan is survived by his wife, Jackie, daughters, Lorri (Eric) Koon, of Plainwell, and Sheri (Pat) Peavey, of Battle Creek, sons, Tim (Tammy) Healey of Delton, and Matt J. Healey of Battle Creek, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Janine Lemke of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday, at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
