Mary Jean Nelson, 55, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born December 15, 1961 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Walter and Jeroldean (Ward) Davis). She married her soul mate, Justin Nelson, on April 16, 1988 in San Diego, CA.
Mary was a selfless woman who gave her life to her children and her husband. She was an incredible writer and loved creating music with her husband and writing poems and short stories. Mary also enjoyed reading and making others laugh. She was adored by all who came to know her and will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her unwavering smile and her beautiful blue eyes.
She is survived by her husband, Justin; children, Jennifer (Ronald Delucas) Nelson and Andrew (Katherine) Nelson; brother, Frank (Sandra) Davis; and 4 grandchildren – all of whom will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, who welcome her with loving embrace.
A service celebrating Mary’s life will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Memorial tributes may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
