Obituary for Debra Sue Palmer

Debra Sue “Deb” Palmer, 62, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at her home. She was born April 23, 1954 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Walter McFadden and Judith (Wood) Mishler. Deb graduated from Pennfield High School class of 1972. She married David Palmer on March 21, 1980 in Battle Creek. Deb worked hard her whole life to give her children the best life she could possibly give them. She was then able to stop working and watch her grandchildren around 2013. Deb enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining for friends and family. Deb would open her house to anyone. It wouldn’t matter who showed up to the door, she would invite them in for dinner because if you knew Deb at all, she always made way too much food. Most of all, Deb enjoy spending time with her kids and grandkids and watching them learn to swim and play in their pool.
She is survived by her husband, David; mother, Judith Mishler; children, Shaun (Rebecca) Palmer and Brooke (Michael) Hayward; siblings, Kanda Force, Sidney (Kim) McFadden, Scott McFadden, Nora Brozek, and Phillip Mishler; grandchildren, Madelynn and Cole Palmer and Breanne and Jacob Hayward; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter.
A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post #484 at 3801 W. Hickory Rd., Hickory Corners, MI on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers monetary donations are welcome at the celebration to help family pay for services.
