Marsha Lee Taylor (Colp)
Marsha Lee Taylor, age 77, of Battle Creek, died Sunday February 19, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek, surrounded by her loving family. Marsha was born July 15, 1939 in Battle Creek, to Horace and Margaret (Colp) Gradwell. Marsha attended Battle Creek Schools and had worked as a teacher’s aide at Bedford Elementary School, Kresge Store (downtown), a nurse’s aide at the former Arrowood Nursing Home, and retired in 2000 from Dosca Home. Marsha was involved in Blue Birds and Cub Scouts, watching wrestling on TV, visiting the casino, especially during a trip to Las Vegas and shopping. Marsha was a great Detroit Tiger fan and was very active in her son’s baseball games . Marsha loved animals, especially her dog Shadow but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marsha is survived by her husband of 59 years, Duane R. Taylor, daughters, Linda D. Chapman of Battle Creek, Dawn (Tony) Thomas, of Battle Creek, sons, Steven (Lorna) Taylor of Battle Creek, and Jeffrey (Edwina) Taylor of St. Ignace, grandchildren, James (Valarie) Chapman, Chad (Ashlie) Chapman, Kaleb Taylor, Joshua Curran, Nicole (Jake) Voss , Dakota Taylor, great grandchildren, Nathan Chapman , Tristin Chapman, Braelyn Chapman, and Hailea Thomason, a sister, Joan E. Davidson of Battle Creek, step grandchildren, John and Leslie West and Devyn Brown. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Gordon Gradwell. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
