Obituary for Esther M. Allison (Chantrenne)

Esther M. Allison, 80, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home. She was born July 5, 1936 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Theodore and Marjorie (Prough) Chantrenne. Esther married the late Earl Allison on September 4, 1954 in Battle Creek. Esther and Earl loved to camp together and go for cruises on their Honda. She was an accountant for Sears for 15 years, before starting her career with Transamerica. Esther retired from Transamerica after 25 plus years of service. She was a member of Northeastern Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Esther enjoyed word search puzzles, wintering in Alabama, and was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Teresa (Alan Perkins) Vinton and Steve (Tammy) Allison; brother, Earl "Jake” (Edna) Chantrenne; sister-in-law, Nancy Chantrenne; grandchildren, Christeina (Scott) Cosgrove, Nicholas Vinton, Jaime Dunn, Jeremy Allison, and Tim Westenbroek; and great grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, Joshua, Scotty, Jr., Caitlyn, Cayden, Evan, and Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; and brother, Teddy Chantenne.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with funeral services to follow at 1:30 PM with Rev. Gregory L. Bishop officiating. Burial will be at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek, MI.
Memorial tributes may be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, or Heartland Hospice.
