Obituary for Ravelle W. Hudson (Wilemon)

Ravelle W.  Hudson (Wilemon)
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Ravelle W. (McKenzie) Hudson, age 101, announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her residence at Pineview Assisted Living at North Pointe Woods.
Ravelle was born November 11, 1915 in Tishomingo, MS the daughter of James C. Wilemon and Roxie (McWharter) Wilemon.
She worked in the packing plant for the Kellogg Cereal Company in Battle Creek for 27 years; until she retired in 1977.
She first married Frederick McKenzie; however he died August 1967. She then married Lloyd Hudson on Feb. 16, 1974; however he died May 16, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon Crandal of Battle Creek; Norma Kay Davidson of Ceresco, MI; five grandchildren: Nick (Carrie) Davidson and Jimmie (Angela) Davidson both of Callahan, FL; Shane Snyder of Augusta, MI; Scott Snyder of Richmond Hill, GA; and Cassandra Davidson of Jacksonville, FL; five great grandchildren: Shane Frank Snyder of Battle Creek, MI; Keith Davidson of Jacksonville, FL; Kyle Davidson of the US Air Force; Payton Davidson of Callahan, FL; and Austyn Peters of Callahan, FL; her step-daughter: Jacqueline “Jackie” (Gary) Kuczynski of Green Bay, WI; two step-sons: Robert Hudson of Green Bay, WI; and Walter Hudson of Iron Mountain, MI; and many nieces and nephews in Battle Creek and Mississippi.
She came to Battle Creek in 1934 from Tishomingo, Mississippi. She graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1934 and was a star Basketball player in school. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. During the 1980's and 1990's she had wintered in Ocoee, Florida. She enjoyed working in her garden, being in the out of doors, crocheting, canning in the fall, and going to antique shows and garage sales. She always looked forward to her lunchtime visits with her daughters at North Pointe Woods. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Fred McKenzie (August 1967) and Lloyd Hudson (Feb. 16, 1974); her five brothers Silas Wilemon (1944); Elton Wilemon (1980); Price Wilemon (1989); Tom Wilemon and Lynton Wilemon; her five sisters: Letra Dean (1983); Lucy Eaton (1979); Ione Knowles (1997); Alma Cunningham; and Liza Rushings; and her son in law Frederick "Fred" Crandal (Dec. 22, 2016).
Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 where the family will be present from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Graveside services at Decatur Cemetery will be held in Decatur, Tenn. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, TN. Memorial tributes may be made to: American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
