Irene Clara Edwards, age 95, of Battle Creek, died Thursday December 29th, 2016 at Evergreen Senior Care Center. Irene was born May 9, 1921 in Battle Creek to Clarence and Mae Edwards and lived in Battle Creek her entire life. She had been employed by the Post Cereal Co. for 40 years until her retirement in 1985. Irene enjoyed traveling, needlework and was a member of the Post Cereals 25 year Club. Irene is survived by her nieces, Gladys Aikens of Battle Creek and Florence Marie Mullinax, of Ibera, Missouri, and a nephew, Robert Young of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Zilpha Young, and brothers, Ralph, Don, and Clifford Edwards. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
