Linda "Red" Kay Pendygraft (Caswell)
Linda Kay “Red” Pendygraft, age 75, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday November 29th, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital of Battle Creek. Linda was born January 12, 1941 in Battle Creek, to Stephen and Lavina (Wolverton) Caswell and was a lifelong resident. Linda attended Battle Creek Public Schools and had been employed by the V.C. Squire Co., Harlow’s Redwood Inn, Ken Nottke’s Bowl, and Mercy Pavilion Nursing Home. Linda’s greatest joy and favorite job was raising her loving family. Linda enjoyed bowling, gardening and yard work, dancing and listening to her brother’s play in his band. Linda is survived by her husband, Kenneth P. Pendygraft, daughters, Jade Pendygraft, Jenny (Ryan) Bowers, both of Battle Creek, Lynn Pendygraft of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Diana Pendygraft and Lauren Pendygraft, both of Battle Creek, sons, Kenneth, Dennis and Asa Pendygraft all of Battle Creek, 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild, a sister, Lavonna Marriott of Battle Creek, a brother, Dewey (Vicky) Caswell, of Kalamazoo. Linda was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Pendygraft in 1986, her parents, sisters, and Lavina Caswell, Barbara Gwen, Beaulah Langenfeld and Winnie Branham, brothers, Sonny Caswell, Donald Caswell and Ted Caswell. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
