Obituary for Carol Ann Wallace (Strong)






Carol Ann Wallace, age 69, of Battle Creek, died Monday November 21, 2016 at her home. Carol was born December 23, 1946 in Cadillac, Michigan to Derward and Martha (Ramlow) Strong and came to Battle Creek at the age of ten. Carol was a 1965 graduate of Lakeview High School and received her nurses training at Kellogg Community College. Carol had been employed by the former Lakeview General Hospital, Oaklawn Hospital, Battle Creek Health Systems, and The Heritage Assisted Living Community. Carol was known as a very compassionate and caring nurse for 46 years, retiring in 2011. Carol loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed horseback riding and serving as a pet nanny. She enjoyed “loud” music and cruising around in a convertible with the largest, craziest sunglasses she could find. “Momma Butts” spent her favorite day in search of a beautiful beach or boating on “G-Ocean” (Goguac Lake). Carol had a great sense of humor and loved to make people feel better. Carol is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Russell) Carroll of Battle Creek, her son, Michael (Tamara) Butts, of Marshall, grandchildren, Britni and Dustin (Lauren) Carroll, sisters, Janet Frost of Battle Creek, and Ann Strong. Nieces Lauren and Erin Frost and her former husband and lifelong friend, Michael J. Butts. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, December 11th at Pasche’s Lakeside Seafood Restaurant, 315 W. Columbia Ave. Battle Creek.
