Mary Ellen Hanson, 92, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born September 18, 1924 in La Grange, IN the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Herman) Campbell. She married the late Donald Glen Hanson on November 15, 1943. Mary was a Nurse's Aide for Community Hospital for 13 years before her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the American Legion Post #54. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Alice) Hanson and Sandra Huggett; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Richard, and Carl Campbell; sister, Betty Kaiser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; grandson, John Huggett; and 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Friday from 8:30-9:30 AM with funeral service to follow at 9:30 AM with Rev. Carolyn Robinson Fisher officiating. Burial will be at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Ross Township, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
