Darwin “Jay” Hill, age 54, of Battle Creek, died Friday August 26th 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Jay was born May 29, 1962, in Battle Creek, to Mary Lee Hill. He was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and attended Battle Creek Public Schools. Jay had been employed by the LDA Landscaping Co. for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, sports of all kinds, attending football games, and especially taking his son, Daniel to his Motocross events. Jay was once given an award for being the most enthusiastic fan. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Swanson, of Battle Creek, a son and best friend, Daniel Jay Hill of Battle Creek, a sister Tamera (Ron) Ambroso of Battle Creek, a stepson, Curtis Day of Battle Creek, a niece, Rachael Ambroso, and a nephew, Jared Ambroso. Jay was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dewey and Lucy (Dishman) Hill. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 1st, at the Chapel of Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 E. Michigan Ave. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Center. Arrangements are by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
