Ada “Betty” Bundy-Smith, age 72, of Dowling, died Thursday August 11, 2016 at Blodgett Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. Betty was born September 17th 1943 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Samuel and Margaret (Singleton) Pearcy and came to Battle Creek as a child. Betty was a 1961 graduate of Gull Lake High School. She had been employed Meijer Stores for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Betty was great quilter and was a member of the Hastings Quilting Guild and had won several ribbons at quilting shows. Betty loved flower gardening and making her yard look special, but her most cherished time was spent with her loving family. Betty is survived by her husband , Stephen D. Smith, daughters, Donna M. Sexton of Battle Creek, and Cristina L. Morris of Hastings, grandchildren, Marlee and Mitchell Morris , a great grandchild, Liam Morris, step children, Chad (Maranda) Smith, and Stephanie (Daniel) Hicks and three step grandchildren. A sister, Fay (Jack) Wickens of Battle Creek. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband Deo Bundy. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association. www.bachmanhebble.com.
