Maxine E. Harrington – Fitzjohn, age 93, of Olivet , died Thursday June 30, 2016 at the Christian Elder Care Nursing Home in Olivet. Maxine was born May 29, 1923 in Battle Creek to Fred and Lucille (Poole) Moore, and was a lifelong resident. Maxine attended Argubright Business College and Kellogg Community College. She had been employed by Post Cereals for over 40 Years. Maxine enjoyed bowling and had attended many national tournaments. She also enjoyed garage sales, watching baseball and football, fishing and attending fairs. She was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Martha (J.R) Thompson, of Grand Rapids, three grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband George Fitzjohn and a brother Glen Moore. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Grace Hospice or Christian Elder Care. www.bachmanhebble.com.
