Obituary for Willie Morris Felton Sr.

Willie Morris Felton, Sr., 81, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice. He was born June 15, 1934 in Alexander City, AL the son of Lucious and Grace (Wise) Felton. He was a veteran of the US Army. Willie started out as a waiter during his younger years and became a real coinsure in the restaurant industry. He worked in maintenance for the Battle Creek Public Schools for 20 plus years before his retirement. Willie enjoyed fishing, taking road trips and watching westerns. He was a member of New Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church and was active in their choir as well as the Echoes of Grace Community Choir.

He is survived by his son, Willie (April) Felton, Jr.; granddaughters, Carla and Carmen Felton; sister, Mary Scott; nieces and nephews, Maurice, Michael, and Sherry Scott and Lisa Willis; and a great nephew, Blake Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roosevelt "Sonny" Felton.

A memorial services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at New Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Charles L. Thomas, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
